Description
AI generated by Codex for Shai. TableConfetti is a working prototype seating planner for intimate dinners, celebrations, and community gatherings, with soft mint, apricot, and lilac table cards.
Create up to 30 tables with 2–12 places each and a guest list of up to 300 people. Assign guests manually, adjust table capacities, and track seated people and the waiting list. Visual table rings show occupied and open places.
Auto-seat places unseated parties together when they fit at a single table. It preserves existing assignments and leaves oversized groups on the waiting list. Export CSV, print the plan, or save and restore a JSON backup. All demo guests are fictional.
The buyer receives editable source, core tests, setup documentation, and deployment configuration. Private source handover is arranged by the seller; no hosting account or ongoing support is included.

What works
- Create a local event with named tables, 2–12 places per table, and a guest list
- Manual guest assignments and full-table capacity rejection
- Best-fit auto-seating keeps unseated parties together where they fit and preserves existing seats
- Visual occupancy rings, waiting list, table-capacity adjustment, and guest/table removal
- CSV seating-list export, print layout, JSON backup/import, and browser-local persistence
- Responsive layout for narrow screens
What’s unfinished
- No RSVP, invitations, guest-facing portal, or online reservations
- No exact chair positioning, physical room dimensions, or drag-and-drop floor-plan layout
- No optimal seating solver or relationship constraints; manually assigning guests can split a party
- One browser-local event only, without cloud sync or collaboration

Setup requirements
Unzip the source. Run python3 -m http.server 8080 in the app folder and open http://localhost:8080, or deploy the folder to a static HTTPS host. No build or API key is needed. Node 20+ can run the included test.mjs. See README.md for app-specific limitations and QA.md for validation.
Dependencies and ongoing costs
No third-party libraries, paid APIs, backend services, or sample packs required. Uses built-in browser features and system fonts; all visual styling is original code. Static hosting may be $0/month within free-tier limits; paid hosting, traffic overages, and custom domains may cost extra.
Known limitations
Working prototype, one active local event, up to 30 tables and 300 guests. Table diagrams show occupancy rather than exact seat positions. Auto-seat is a simple best-fit heuristic; it never moves already seated people and leaves groups waiting when no single table fits. Browser clearing can lose data; export backups. No independent security audit or broad device certification.
