Stampworthy

A digital loyalty stamp card for cafes and small shops: look up a card by its code, add a stamp, give the reward.

Screenshots

Screenshots supplied by the seller.

Description

Paper stamp cards get lost and are easy to fake. Stampworthy runs on the shop's own tablet or phone: each customer gets a short card code, staff type it in at the counter, tap Add stamp, and when the card is full the reward is unlocked and marked as given.

Codes end in a check letter, so a mistyped or made-up code is caught at once, and the counter warns if the same card was stamped a few minutes ago. Every stamp and reward has an Undo straight after.

The Cards view shows every customer's progress with search by code or name. Activity shows stamps, visits, rewards given and new cards for today, the last 7 days or all time, a list of regulars, the full log and a CSV export. Shop name, stamps needed, the reward and the warning time are all set in Settings.

Built as plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no server or running costs. A tidy starting point for a loyalty product, or a ready tool for a single shop.

What works

  • Customer cards with short codes and a check letter
  • Counter screen: find a card by code or recent customer, add 1, 2 or 3 stamps
  • Reward unlocks at a set count; customers can save several rewards
  • Give reward and redemption log
  • Undo for the last stamp or reward
  • Warning when a card is stamped twice within a few minutes
  • Cards list with progress and search
  • Activity totals for today, 7 days or all time, regulars list and CSV export
  • Settings for shop name, stamps needed, reward and warning time
  • Works on phones, tablets and desktops
  • Tests for the card logic

What’s unfinished

  • One device only: no accounts, syncing or customer-facing app
  • Clearing browser data deletes all cards and the log
  • No QR codes or printable cards yet
  • One reward type per shop
  • The check letter stops typos and guessing, not a determined cheat; real security would need a server
  • Interface is English only

Technologies

HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES modules), localStorage, Node test runner

Setup requirements

Upload the files to any static web host. To try it locally, run python3 -m http.server and open http://localhost:8000. Run the tests with npm test (Node 20 or newer).

Dependencies and ongoing costs

None. It is a static site that runs free on any web host. Fonts load from Google Fonts (SIL Open Font License) with system fallbacks.

Known limitations

Data lives in localStorage on one device. For several tills or shops you would add accounts and a database.
