Pulse Survey

AI generated rhythm analysis desk with tempo candidates, onset markers, an editable beat grid and click overlay rendering.

Description

AI generated. Pulse Survey is a standalone browser tool for checking rhythmic periodicity and preparing a manual timing reference.

Analyze original reference rhythms or a local recording using positive RMS energy changes. Inspect onset markers and several periodic tempo candidates, including common half and double interpretations. These are clues rather than guaranteed musical tempo or meter estimates.

Set BPM and beat zero, nudge alignment, listen to a click overlay and export beat timing or onset CSV. A stereo WAV renderer captures the normalized source and click grid for comparison elsewhere.

Technologies

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Audio API

Setup requirements

Open index.html or serve the folder with any static HTTP server. Use a deliberate play action to enable audio.

Dependencies and ongoing costs

No third party libraries, paid APIs or required services. A current Web Audio capable browser is required. Optional static hosting can be free.

Known limitations

AI generated browser utility. Tempo analysis can have half and double ambiguities and can fail on soft, dense or changing rhythms. Periodicity scores are not calibrated probabilities. Beat zero and beats per bar are manual references. Imports are mono or stereo, up to 12 MB and 60 seconds with browser dependent codecs, and normalize to peak 0.7. Grid settings exclude audio. Hosted file operations may be restricted. No broad recording corpus or physical audio validation is claimed.
